Kurlies - we are in the thick of summer and it is HOT. And while big hair is GORGE, on days like this, we prefer to get it off our necks and faces. This Side Braid Pony is a perfect summer look. It's cute AND functional, helping to keep you cool in a stylish way.
In this video, Jasmin is wearing two sets of the Mermaid Fro. She defined her curls by using the methods in this video. I am wearing two sets of the Mermaid Spirals, and as you can see, it looks just as cute.
As usual, this style is pretty easy to achieve. We use the reverse clip method in the back. This helps prevent tugging when we pull the hair into a ponytail. And we also use the headband method in the front. This gives us full coverage. Only about 10% of Jasmin's natural hair is out. So this also doubles as a protective style for those who want to give their natural tresses a break.
The hardest part about this style is the braid in the front. If you don't know how to cornrow, you might find that aspect challenging. But with that said, feel free to replace it with a flat twist.
