Hi Kurlies, My name is Rana Campbell and I am the host of Dreams In Drive - a podcast for creative and lifestyle entrepreneurs who want to learn how to take their dreams out of PARK and into DRIVE. Beyond podcasting, I enjoy my day job working as a Marketing Specialist at an eCommerce fulfillment company. I also run my personal blog ranacampbell.com - and help creatives learn how to build brands that SHINE in the business world. WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE KURLY KLIPS?
I first fell in love with the Kurly Klips brand after interviewing Founder & CEO Lana Boone for episode 13 of the Dreams In Drive podcast. I love that she started the brand after not being able to find clip-ins that matched her natural hair texture. As an entrepreneur and consumer, her passion inspired me. As someone who is very active, but not the biggest fan of weaves, I wanted to try clip-in extensions again after a not-so-good long-term experience with another brand. Kurly Klips and Dreams In Drive had partnered on some episode sponsorship collaborations so I asked Lana to recommend a texture that would fit my low maintenance lifestyle. We decided on My Kinky Straight and the rest has been history! I love how helpful Lana was during the entire experience and also loved all the positive customer reviews and online styling tutorials as well. I'm happy I chose Kurly Klips. It's been really helpful to have a simple go-to style that takes me less than 10 minutes to install and style in the morning. It's also a great way for me to protective style my own hair, minimize manipulation AND support a Black-owned woman business.
FAVORITE PRODUCTS TO USE ON YOUR KURLY KLIPS + WHAT'S YOUR CARE ROUTINE?
Because the My Kinky Straight texture is very low maintenance, I don't use a lot of product. When I want to add some shine or light moisture, I use a few drops of TGIN (Thank God It's Natural) Argan Replenishing Hair & Body Serum.
ANY FAVORITE MEMORIES WHILE WEARING YOUR KURLY KLIPS?
One of my favorite memories wearing my Kurly Klips is from the night I first received them. I remember rushing to install them and wearing them to a Cakes & Heels dance class that night. As a dancer, I love big, voluminous hair and I remember how confident and fierce I felt that night. You couldn't tell me anything! I liked that the hair matched my own texture and made me feel great in my own skin.
