With the humidity finally dissipating, us Kurlies can, at last, enjoy straighter styles. From blowouts to silk presses, hair prone to shrinkage can see its full length in crisp, Autumn air. So if you're a natural who enjoys a walk on the straight side, this tutorial is for you. It will teach you how to flat iron your My Fro Collection to get a sleek, yet full look.

And the best part? It should still resemble your blown-out natural hair. No need to add additional heat - unless you want to ;)

Directions

As we mention in the video, these Kurly Klips were blown out first using this method.

From there, Jasmin takes a small section of hair and detangles it. She then chases the comb with her flat iron for a smooth appearance.

Jasmin does this with her Kurly Klips clipped in. When we shot this video, we were not selling our awesome Detangling Caddy at the time. So if you plan on blow drying and flat ironing your clips, please use the caddy. It's safer on your natural hair and makes the entire process a lot easier. Feel free to purchase it here. It's a worthwhile 25 buck investment.

We should mention that Jasmin's aim wasn't silky straight hair. If you want that look, plan to bump up the heat to a hot setting. Additionally, be sure to use a heat protectant to protect your tresses from damage.

But please remember that your Kurly Klips are just as susceptible to heat damage as your natural hair. So if you prefer to wear your KKs in their naturally curly state, do not abuse the iron. Next week's post will be about healthy ways to straighten Kurly Klips hair. So stay tuned!

Now if you want to wear this look permanently, we recommend trying out our Kinky Straight line. The collection is designed to mimic afro-textured hair that's been blown dry. So save yourself the extra step. Get the KK collection formulated for this texture.

Hope this helps! Be sure to tag us in IG if you straighten your Kurly Klips. We would love to feature you on our page ;)
